L'Arche Winnipeg Welcome Centre

Join us for a delightful evening of music, refreshments, and good company with musical theatre musician Tricia Magsino Barnabe, accompanied by Dr. John Tanner at the L'Arche Winnipeg Welcome Centre (525 Day St, Winnipeg, MB, Canada). Ticket sales from this event go towards Solidarity, which supports L’Arche International communities in developing countries.

Dr. John Tanner is a retired physician and amateur pianist who studied choral conducting with Dr. Elroy Friesen. He has conducted several community and church choirs over the years, but now confines himself to singing in choirs, such as Joie de Vivre under Dr. Stuart Sladden, Stradbrook Show Choir under Helen Bergen, Koshetz Ukrainian Choir under Mira Paches, and Brebeuf Church Ensemble with Dexter Suban. He is delighted to be collaborating with Dr. Tricia Magsino Barnabé.

Dr. Tricia Magsino Barnabé is a Manitoba dentist by profession but also an experienced performing artist. She has been seen and heard on radio, television and theatres such as Rainbow Stage (most notably as the lead role of Kim in Miss Saigon), Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, numerous independent productions and playing main roles in high school productions at Glenlawn Collegiate.

Tricia is the visionary and founder of the All-Dentist Musicals, which she created in order to fundraise for various organizations such Prairie Theatre Exchange, CancerCare Manitoba (Head and Neck cancer patients) and the Manitoba Dental Foundation. In these musicals, she performed main roles in Little Shop of Horrors, Guys and Dolls and Young Frankenstein.

Under her own A Million Dreams performing label, she has performed and produced three of her own shows *A Million Dreams, an online show due to COVID called * Faith, Hope, Love and most recently a musical revue which she also wrote and directed called * New Beginnings in a New World. The entire proceeds for these shows were directed to ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor), a portion of which was allotted to a dental/vision mission which she spearheaded last February 2024.

An accomplished lyric soprano soloist with a repertoire ranging from classical to Broadway to jazz and pop/rock, Tricia is pleased to sing for Solidarity Music Night on Thursday, June 13th and the upcoming show at Prairie Theatre Exchange THIS IS ME, an interactive musical experience on Friday, August 23rd, 2024 – all proceeds going to L’Arche Winnipeg!
