The Salvation Army is thrilled to be back for the 17th Hope in the City Breakfast in support of our Christmas Kettle campaign.

This year, our guest speaker is Tareq Hadhad, Founder and CEO of Peace by Chocolate.

Tareq Hadhad is telling his story. He was a Syrian refugee and now living his new life with his entrepreneurial family on Canada’s east coast.

Passionate about peace and entrepreneurship, his family relaunched the family business to recreate the chocolates they exported across the Middle East and their story turned into an international inspiring phenomenon.

Tareq has done over 1000 interviews with news teams across the globe and is a keynote speaker who talks about his family’s compelling story, the positive impact of Syrian newcomers and the spirit of entrepreneurship.

Most recently, he was recognized as one of the Top 50 CEOs in Atlantic Canada by Atlantic Business Magazine.

The breakfast is a special Christmas tradition that brings together leaders and change-makers in Winnipeg. It will also be your first opportunity to help us start our Christmas Kettle campaign. This years kettle goal is $345,000. The funds raised stay here in Winnipeg to provide year-round programs such as Christmas assistance, community meal programs, emergency food distribution, seniors programs, summer camp holidays for children and more.
