Greetings from One88 Community Church.
We are excited to be hosting our 5th annual Golf Tournament at Bel-Acres Golf & Country Club on Thursday, September 4th, 2025. Every year our tournament has grown, and we are working towards and anticipating even more participation this year. A quick word about who we are and why we hold this tournament:
One88 is a church in a hard place. For 12+ years, we have felt the call to walk with people in downtown Winnipeg, living out radical hospitality in very practical ways. This can mean providing the means to shower and cleanup, some food, laundry, help with housing, or taking time to talk and pray through difficult situations. It’s providing a cup of coffee and a safe place to work through the stuff that keeps us stuck in one place. It’s inviting people into the fullness of life found in Jesus while helping each other deal with the realities of life around addictions, homelessness, poverty, and lack of supports. It’s not simply about doing things for people but being with each other in community. And in doing so, we all recognize how we need each other and rely on God’s goodness for every step of the way.
The nature of our community means that we rely on generous donations from people from a variety of networks. The Golf Tournament is one of the ways we seek to sustain the work we are doing in downtown Winnipeg. It is also a way to let people know about the work we are doing and build some new relationships.
