World Down Syndrome Day

Saturday, Mar 21, 2026 at 12:00AM

March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day, and the Manitoba Down Syndrome Society wants YOU to celebrate with us! 🧦💛💙

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is a global awareness day that was created to celebrate the lives of people with Down syndrome & to make sure they have the same freedoms & opportunities as everybody else. March 21 is a day to recognize, celebrate, and champion the incredible people with Down syndrome in our community.

Here's how you can join the fun:
🧦 Rock Your Socks!
- Wear your wildest, most mismatched socks on March 21 to show your support and spark conversations about inclusion and acceptance.
- Hold a 'Lots Of Socks' day: Ask your school or workplace to wear bold socks & make a donation the Manitoba Down Syndrome Society.
- Share a 'Lots Of Socks' selfie: Post a photo of your socks on social media with the hashtag #RockYourSocks to join the conversation.

✨ Visit The Forks! Head down on March 21 to seeEsplanade Riel and the WINNIPEG sign lit up in blue and yellow in honour of World Down Syndrome Day.

Together, we can build a more inclusive world for everyone. Let's make some noise this March 21st! 💛
